I liked this a lot but I really couldn't come back from how the MMC and FMC 'knew each other' and I liked them throughout this but I don't think they dealt with the underlying trauma. I think I just didn't believe them together long term? I haven't marked this as a spoiler as this explained on page one. I really liked the writing and the characters throughout I just wish the circumstances of how they were connected weren't what they were. I will definitely be reading more by Yulin Kuang!

This book really understood emotions. There is where it was truly powerful. However, there were many aspects that needed improvement. Some things weren't explained well enough for me and other aspects needed to be explained earlier.

Thoughtful romance with a unique premise and a Hollywood twist

How to End a Love Story stands out with a refreshingly original setup for how the main characters know each other—it’s not your typical meet-cute. The story explores emotional complexity with care, while the backdrop of Hollywood writers’ rooms adds a smart, behind-the-scenes feel that gives the romance added texture.

A thoughtful, character-driven read with a creative hook and just the right touch of glamour.

3.5 ⭐️ this was a solid story. I particularly liked the parts that focused on her complicated family relationships. I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had read it as a physical book because I didn’t love Grant’s narrator. He kinda sounded like a villain?
