That's not what this is. This is about who you are and who I am, right now, here in the present. Why won't you let me just-
She kisses him then, cutting him off from love you.
Fine, then. Lie to me. Treat me like you loved me back.
How to End A Love Story perfectly balances the heavy subject of loss with falling in love. The history that connects Helen and grant together is truly heartbreaking, but they are undeniably tied together. A great question is: Did Grant and Helen fall for each other because of their tied history or despite it? We'll never know, and that's okay because Helen and Grant definitely needed each other.
I love how this story was told, and the dual audiobook was amazing! We definitely benefitted from getting both Grant and Helen's POV, and I especially loved when they switched POVs in one chapter, telling the story together.

Reese Girl.... we gotta talk... lately, your recs have not been hitting!
The first 150 pages are rough, but im a girl who tries really hard not to DNF a book.
It got better at the end.
I really enjoyed the message she wrote to her sister (who died 13 years earlier due to $uicide).
I just thought there was a lot of fluff and it took awhile for the book to make the connections

Very impressive debut. Perfect pool read, while I had a few quibbles on the development of the romance, it was really lovely and thoughtful without being overwrought.

This book was unnecessarily slow. The characters were not likeable, the dialogue was cringey, and the plot was disjointed and forced. Super predictable book. I lost track of how many times I rolled my eyes while reading it.
I wasn't enjoying this one. It was on a recommended list from Powell's for AAPI authors so I thought I'd check it out. The subject matter was a little bit too familiar for me to find it an enjoyable backdrop for a lighthearted romance, and honestly just way too unbelievable, which is saying a lot for someone who reads schlock like I do. And the MC was not at all likeable. Too bad.
