“While I’m flattered you just compared me to the Taylor Swift — you’re delusional. She’s Taylor Swift.”
“And you’re Truly St. James.”

I haven’t rated a book five stars in a while, but this one definitely deserved one. I loved Truly and Colin. They are literally perfectly written characters and both tugged on my heartstrings just a little bit. I loved the communication conveyed in this book and how easy they made it look. The banter between the two of them had me laughing and their serious conversations had me tearing up. THEIR FIRST KISS MADE ME CRY? Hello. Five star read right here.

If this author writes it, I will read it. If you add in some disaster bisexuals and great spice, I will devour it. I liked both main characters separately, so I loved them together.

Were there parts of this book that were probably supposed to be to be cringe? Yes. Did I love them anyway? Yes.

Alexandria’s writing style and banter is superb. Love this.

Truly Madly Deeply is a super cute, angsty rom-com featuring both a Bi fmc and mmc. Truly, a recently single romance author, and Colin, a divorce lawyer, have signed on to co-host a dating advice podcast series together. They instantly clash and throw barbs at each other, but secretly they are attracted to each other deep down.

I felt my queerness represented in a character for the first time in Truly. She is Bi (I'm Bi/Pan) but doesn't feel Bi enough because she's never been with a woman. There's a really perfect scene in the book where our main characters are discussing this and Truly says she's attracted to people, not just men or women. Colin affirms her by telling her she doesn't need to prove herself to anyone. She is Bi because of her attraction, not because of who she has or hasn't been with.

I really enjoyed this story and will be reading more from the author.

I swear I've read and liked this author before, but this book did not work for me on most levels. Throughout the book, it felt like no one talked or acted like a real person, and the characterization largely fell flat. (Male lead was overall a little too perfect, while the female lead was flawed in ways that just... didn't make sense?)
