It’s been a long time since I’ve read a Nora Roberts book and I’m shocked at how easily I’m hooked again.
There’s something beautiful in the simplicity of the writing. I love the stress on female friendship and friendship in general.
The story has a good pace and an interesting premise. I like the main character, Stella and her kids. Stella is the polar opposite of me and I found her anal organization charming. I loved the other main female leads too. Ros is strong and independent and Haley lovely. I now need to get the next books in the series to find out where their lives go.
I am not going to lie. I did not like Logan at first. He struck me as a stereotypical jackass male lead (and since the last “romance” I read was Colleen Hover.. and therefore not romance at all and the main character abusive.. I was worried Logan would fall in that direction) I’m happy that was not the case. He tiene into a much better character than anticipated.
Also I really liked the ghost and look forward to finding out more of her story. I have some guesses since feels pretty obvious but will see in next books.

(#1) In the Garden trilogy. Did not care for this book as listened to it on audio and the narrator Susie Breck was so country and southern, it was annoying. Setting near Memphis, TN with a backdrop of an historic house with a gardening business, three women bond while trying to uncover a past and work toward a future. Stella along with her two boys move into the home after the death of her husband to start a new career. She find friendship and bonds with owner Roz and expectant mother Hayley. She also develops an attraction to the handsome landscaper Logan and a romance begins. However, someone is not happy (the ghost is back-Amelia from the past)! Not one of my favorites..

First paranormal romance - I was definitely skeptical in the beginning and the first few sightings or experiences with the Harper Bride were more comedic than eerie. But I will say the story did start to pick up & I became much more invested in the story. Who is the Harper Bride? What happened to her & why is she so against Logan Kitridge? Can't wait to find out more in the next two books!
I've never read a Nora Roberts book that I didn't love. Her style of writing really gels with how I like characters developed and their stories told.
Fluffy romance but I admit to enjoying the Harper Bride Story arc and the other two women more than Stella and Logan.
Going to read the next as I need answers about the ghost!
