In the Garden #1
Stella & Logan
She's a young widow who's always had a passion for plants. He is a landscaper (very rugged & handsome) employed by the nursery and at first resents Stella's new job and her presence. He feels she's interfering and messing with the status quo. He eventually softens to her & her 2 little boys and she begins to stick up for herself.
LIked book one.

Nora Roberts has been writing books forever - and while I've enjoyed them all, you can see her growth as a human & an author throughout. This book in particular mentioned floppy disks as a useful tool, so it's obviously a bit older & there were a few phrases/moments that I don't think she would write now. Nevertheless, I'm already on to book two!

It’s set in Memphis!

4.5⭐️

I wasn't convinced by this book's love story, but I did like the background plot that will build into the trilogy.

This book had so many characters with their own stories and POVs that Stella and Logan, the main ones, didn’t get enough focus. It felt like the theme of women at different stages of motherhood was given more importance than the romance. Because of that, I didn’t really connect with Logan or feel much chemistry between him and Stella.

Logan saying he loved Stella after less than five interactions felt completely out of the blue. They didn’t even spend a whole night together before deciding to get married, which made their relationship feel rushed and unconvincing. I just wish the book had focused more on the romance instead of trying to cover so many other things.
