Audio- Good story, pivotal in the development of the series, so it is not to be missed. I just did not like the heroine Hope, the half demon. She doesn't believe in herself she can't control her tastes and she's quick to be seduced. Her love interest Karl saved the story for me, he is likable +. There is a lot of death in this edition to the series and the future is changing for the Kabal.

I really, really enjoyed this book. I know a lot of people do not like the Armstrong books that do not feature the Elena and Clay, but this one was great.
Very exciting plot, lots of action, and Fantastic sexual chemistry between Karl and Hope.

I didn't expect to enjoy this novel as much as the previous books in the series, but I just love Kelley Armstrong's style! She's so easy to read whilst still being witty and funny. I didn't love Hope at first, but really appreciated the character the more I read and I ended up really liking Karl too.

I thought the changes in perspective worked very well too - always cohesive.

Great again!

Apparently an unpopular opinion but I think Hope is my favourite protagonist from this series

Featured Hope and Karl. I wasn't as interested or captivated by this book as I have been with some of the others in the series.

This is a hard book to review... at times it was great but the story felt disjointed. I think having Lucas as a POV threw it off, I get he played a large part of the story and maybe that was the problem. It felt like two stories smooshed into one with Hope’s part actually less than I expected it to be.

Hope’s need for chaos is a bit creepy, I don’t envy her that. However she is impulsive and pretty uninhibited but not stupid so her story was fun to read.

I thought Karl and Hope were a interesting and sexy couple but like I said they are sharing the story with Lucas and his family drama. The mystery was good and I honesty did not solve it until close to the end.

I also missed the other characters... like Jaime, Jeremy, Savannah, and Elena.

On top of that the ending felt really abrupt.
SpoilerI’m left feeling stressed about Lucas and Paige’s future too!

It was good, okay much better than the book that came before this in the series, BUT I expected it to be about Hope. It was somewhat but it was 50/50 she shared the book with Lucas and the Cortez Cabal. I'm not surprise how things turned out and I'm happy Hope and Karl are a couple now.
