A great read as usual. With Eve it always will be great.
It was a plot with drug addiction and money. Not going to say more except that it was great. I know Mavis was going to be ok, but I felt sorry for Jerry and Justin. It’s sad that justice and crime always find a way to hurt Innocents. Fictional or real life, it’s the truth.
Eve As always, she is strong, tough and smart. I obviously know from the first book what happened, but still hearing it from Eve, was really hard. The one person who should have protects you from harm, was the person who hurt you badly. It may be a fiction, but we can’t just forget this kind of things in a blink because the real-life scenario is worst also. An adult or mature person may handle a rape trauma, but A Child… Just yesterday in world news I saw A 11month girl baby was raped for two hours.
Roarke He was kinda demanding and possessive here. But I think it’s natural when you have fair to lose someone like EVE. But still, the man got impatient real fast.
Summerset I liked the man. I know if Roarke was sticking with him then there must be something special about him.
Feeney As usual, I enjoyed his character.
Peabody I don’t know why she went with Casto in the first place. She deserved more. I mean, that man was hitting your boss in front of you and still, you went with him. What do you think you are, A Substitute?
Mavis Girl, you are a sweetheart. I liked Leonardo too.
Whitney/ Chief I want you more. 😜
I loved Petunia too.
Report Card 🤓
Suspense: Great. 5 stars.
Character development: Steady in growth. 3.5 stars.
Romance: 3 stars.
Writing/ Plot: Great. 5 stars.

This series is rather fun, with a gorgeous heroine, tons of flamboyant characters, plenty of action, some emotional angst and delight, a slightly futuristic time-slot (which gives room for a bit of fun with what would otherwise be fantastical exaggeration), and mouthy dialogue. Great for a read that requires no exercising of the brain.
This one is third in the series but the fourth that I've read. I managed to read the 23rd one first, and then decided it would be fun to read them from the beginning. There is character and story development along the way (it's not just a repetitious same-person-in-a-different-scenario type of series), though there isn't really any doubt about the development.
In the glitzy world of fashion, a nasty murder involves Eve Dallas' best friend. However, the murder of an informer implicates the drug world. And things get interesting.
What more can I say? Light summer reading (or anytime if I want to get through the series before I die...)

Favorite one so far! I like that Eve now has expanded her friend circle to include others. Seeing her face her past in this one was hard, but really well done. So much good in this book.

I didn't quite like this one as much as the first 2. I'm not a big fan of Mavis. Hopefully the next couple of books will have less of her.

I enjoyed this one. I had an inkling of the perpetrator, but wasn't sure until the end. Puppetmaster that one was.
