While the first book was a strong 4.5, this one was more of a 3.5, though it was still very fun! The shine has worn off a little bit, but I feel like that’s common. I mean, does anyone enjoy The Hangover 2 more than the original? It’s like that.
Still, I love the family dynamics, and I know just enough about eastern Asian familial culture to appreciate the motivations here. I think the author does a great job of blending humor and heart, and Meddy is a believable heroine that you can’t help but root for!
I would probably still read more if the series continued, but for now I’ll be thankful for my crazy family and that I don’t need their help kidnapping anyone!

This book somehow made me way more anxious than the first one and I was like wow I don't think I can read another one, but the epilogue got me excited for whatever mayhem happens next. The magic of dial a for auntie wasn't quite here; it didn't make me laugh out loud as much but it was still a fun story that I would recommend to my friends.

I knew that I was going to enjoy this once I’d finished the first chapter. It was so much fun returning to Meddy, her Ma and her Aunties, and this time, Meddy is getting married to Nathan! I was looking forward to seeing what kind of chaos would be created and I was not disappointed - I was in fits of laughter for much of this book. Even through the embarrassing situations & misunderstandings, you can see how much the Aunties love Meddy - accidentally hiring the mafia as wedding planners, foiling assassination attempts, and the stress of trying to make sure that both families get on, Meddy understands that her family is doing what they do because they love her. No matter what country or culture you’re from, families can be embarrassing, but it’s done out of love, even if it involves some spectacular wedding outfits.
