4.5 stars and might round up to five stars but I need to think about it. I have been reading quite a bit of Miss Marple this year and after taking a couple of weeks off, I picked this one up. I really enjoyed it and found myself finishing this in two days. When a wealthy man dies of poisoning the police are called in. It is an odd case and becomes even stranger with more murder and a connection to a nursery rhyme. Miss Marple soon appears and has connection to the case that makes her interested in helping to solve it. I really like when the setting is an old country house and this one was just that. I think I will pick up another Marple sooner than later.

Second Agatha Christie book I read, this one again, it’s an interesting plot and genre of book, I just don’t think it’s for me at this point

An excellent read that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. It even gives you all of the clues that you need to figure out what happened before the big reveal at the end. A fact I greatly enjoyed as I often try to solve the mystery as I read.

“Nobody believes in magicians any more, nobody believes that anyone can come along and wave a wand and turn you into a frog. But if you read in the paper that by injecting certain glands scientists can alter your vital tissues and you'll develop froglike characteristics, well, everybody would believe that.”

A Pocket Full of Rye is my first ever Miss Marple book and while I know that this is the sixth book in the Miss Marple series, it’s always so convenient that every single Agatha Christie’s mystery books are of entirely different cases which is really good if you wanna pick it up randomly and not according to date published.

Wealthy businessman, Rex Fortescue suddenly fall to his death after drinking a poisonous tea. Coincidentally enough, while investigations are being done, they found a pocketful of rye on the late Rex’s body. Is this death an accident caused by food poisoning or was it a horrible crime of murder? This is where Miss Marple steps in to help investigators and Inspector Neele figure out who’s actually responsible of Rex Fortescue’s death.

At first, every Fortescue alive in the book seems like a suspect to me, ALL OF THEM SEEMS TO HAVE THEIR OWN AGENDA, but also knowing Christie’s writing, it’s not gonna be who I suspect the most and I was right as per usual. Though I must say that I was hoping for Miss Marple to be involved more DURING the investigation that Inspector Neele is holding. Nevertheless, this was such a good book and the case was interesting too. Looking forward to expand more of my Miss Marple collection now!
