This is one of those books whose main character is incredibly unlikeable, and for some reason I love to hate them. I’m quickly realizing that this is one of my favourite things to read (see Wuthering Heights, The Catcher in the Rye, etc.) and The Invisible Man pulls it off wonderfully. I had a great time reading this and the only thing that kept it from a 5 star was that I feel like the final conflict wrapped everything up rather quickly, but I still enjoy how it ended. Will definitely be looking into H. G. Wells’s backlist.
It’s just really not capturing me. Reading it is turning into a chore
Disappointing really but a great starting point for script writing, clearly. I enjoy modern film ‘adaptation’ The Invisible Man (2020)
