“Everyone seemed eager to talk at once, and the result was Babel.”

This is a classic that I have always thought I should read, but sadly don't care for! A promising idea, that has been done well since, that is just not fleshed out enough to be anything. A boring story with a plot so thin you can see through it (pun intended). Not bad at all and Wells is a very talented writer, just not anything that connected with me.

It’s always fascinating how well some sci-fi holds up, but H.G Wells still holds strong Invisible Man is definitely not his best but it’s tragically poetic.

(I have come back to write a review for this a few weeks later) I really enjoyed this book. It was the perfect balance of science and adventure. I’m really enjoying H.G.Wells’ novels and can’t wait to read more. There’s something quite cosy about them and I can’t explain it.

Surprisingly funny, and a wildly exciting final act
