Found this book based on a Tiktok for those who enjoyed The Secret History, truly glad I read it. I adore Shakespeare and a mystery like this is always fun to read. The gore wasn’t too graphic and the characters were complex and well meshed. The pacing is easy to follow and, overall, entertaining. Would read again.

I think this book really shines at the end. It follows a group of morally grey, Shakespeare obsessed, out of touch college kids who end up in the middle of a mysterious death. This book does the "are they a good person or bad person?" so well it's kinda freaky. I found the shakespeare quotes in this book highly annoying but that's because i find shakespeare in general...highly boring. If you like reading books that make you slightly nauseous with nerves about the ending you will love this book.

God, wow, this is brilliant. The language is lovely, and the story is captivating. At times, though, the story is problematic—they really need a stage manager. The way theatre is studied here is wildly unsafe and unrealistic. It’s distracting that some crucial theatre technicalities are incorrect or omitted. These characters, though, accurately play their parts and are incredibly lovable.
