It’s clear why this is a fantasy classic it has all the essential elements and really plunges you right into middle earth, but it isn’t without its flaws, especially in terms of pacing and having female characters (like at all).

I loved every bit of the hobbit so so so much. Truly it is the very definition of an adventure tale and gave me the same feeling of curling up in-front of a fire during winter time with a hot drink and warm blanket. The way Tolkien describes middle-earth is simply beautiful and had me completely submerged into the story. Something I would go back to when I am feeling down or going through hard times for sure.
