4.5 what a beautiful story, I did not see the reveal coming and found their story so tragically beautiful.
The last 100 pages wrapped up fairly quick and I feel an extra 50-100 pages would have solidified a 5 star for me.

⭐️ 3.5 - I loved the concept. The concept of an internal, epic love, transcending centuries and every life time, only to be murdered at their hands … so good. Unfortunately for me, the “epic love” aspect didn’t quite hit.
I liked the characters themselves, albeit I wish the FMC got her act together a little more and made our MMC tell her the truth way sooner than after some thousand-odd years. I didn’t feel much chemistry between them. To love one another so completely int the writing style but not show it in their interactions had me losing in interest around the 57% mark. To have them only meet towards the time they’re due to die meant a soul shattering connection could never really be formed.
However I loved the flashbacks and the idea of them coming back with no consistently - some times both women, sometimes both men, sometimes one or the other. I also liked the ending and thought it rounded off the book itself nicely. Love over suffering always 💕
Not a book I’d re-read but a good first and only read.

The premise of this story is great and i quite enjoyed the way it delved into gender and sexuality within this concept. It had a lot of great quotes and I liked that the solution wasn't easy. On the other hand I thought the story could have benefitted from us seeing them fall in love at least once so we are not just told how much they love eachother (even though I think it is a narrative choice so we relate to our main characters confusion). The ending is a little up in the air for me not great but not horrible. As said I like that their plan didn't just work but I thought it was funny that the loophole is found so easily after centuries

I really enjoyed this, a very easy and lovely read. It definitely gave filled a bit of the gap that has existed since reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and any book that mentions Taylor Swift will always be a smash for me.
I thoroughly enjoyed how the love was portrayed as two souls rather than people, their personalities and voice shone through regardless of the time period, gender or nationality.
The only reason this isn't a 5 star read, is because I did catch myself occasionally skimming the chapters from previous time periods as they didn't necessarily add to moving the plot forward.
Looking forward to reading more from this author!
