"I mean, the idea of not being able to change the present even though you can return to the past - how intriguing is that?"

This is the central theme of this book as it affects four different coffee customers who must decide whether or not to return to the past. Each one differs, and each one has his or her own issues to resolve.

While it is a clever plot, the repetitiveness of instructions from the cafe owner about returning gets old. I can understand why the author has included this as each person confronts his or her quandaries; nonetheless, it is tedious for the reader.

I will note here, that it is the first of four that I have read, so I am assuming somehow that the four are linked because the end of this book (#4) is rather abrupt. Not sure I am inclined to read any others though.

C'è una caffetteria a Jinbōchō.

Che esiste oltre il tempo e lo spazio. Circolano delle voci su questa caffetteria. Si dice che sia in grado di far riportare le persone nel passato, oppure nel futuro. Molti hanno bussato alla sua porta. Ciascuno con una storia diversa, con un obiettivo diverso e con la curiosità bruciante di chi non aspetta altro di avere una seconda occasione. Ad accogliere i clienti, la famiglia di Kazu; è lei che spiega le regole necessarie per poter sfidare la barriera del tempo ed è sempre lei che è capace di far riportare indietro nel tempo i clienti. Perché ci sono delle regole. E molti desistono dal loro intento una volta ascoltate. Altri invece vogliono andare avanti. Il lettore segue le loro storie e viaggia con loro.

Gli unici due clienti fissi della caffetteria, sono quelli seduti sull'unica sedia che è in grado di far riportare indietro nel tempo.

Ma l'occasione non dura molto, soltanto "finché il caffè è caldo".
