I’m so in love with Jamie and Wes.
Any book written by Elle Kennedy feels like coming home after a long day of work. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this book because now I have a new author to read, and am so excited to read more of Sarina Bowen’s works.
I have not read a lot of mm books but holyyyyy this book was spicy and the good type not the ‘ugh, can we get this over with’ type.
I would 100% recommend this book, it was the perfect palette cleanser and got me out of my reading slump.
I don’t really think the plot was very surprising but that’s not why I read the book. It was a comfort read, a good one that got the job done.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
AMAZING story from Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy.
I read this book in a day. A DAY. I could not put it down. I even bought the audiobook right before I drove home from work so that I could keep going on the story.
There was the perfect amount of angst, spice, and pining. The bi-awakening made my heart soar, and I loved every second of it.
Working on the second book now

Didn’t hate it but nothing really happened?

lost the content + the characters were starting to irk me :,)
Okay so this was my very first full on MM book and I loved it. The emotions were real and the tension and the spice was perfect!
I came to discover that I really enjoy when a character rediscover their sexuality and I am here for it.
I loved Wes SO SO much. He is this kind soul with a huge heart, but he also has the attitude, the sarcasm, and that "i don't give a f*ck" attitude I love so much! On the other hand Jamie is just a cinnamon roll and I love him along with his family!
I had many laughs reading this but like I said before I also felt all the emotions. -- I am very happy to have read this and I truly devoured it, the audiobook btw, it was FIRE!

It's not fair to compare Him to Heated Rivalry, but I did and all I can say is 'I miss Shane and Ilya."
Jamie and Wes/Ryan are 22 years olds - I can forgive their miscommunication and even Wes's running away. What I cannot forgive is that this book has TWO authors and yet Jamie and Wes have the same voice. There is literally no distinction between POVs other than the name changing at the top of the chapter. Also unforgivable, especially in a MM hockey romance, mediocre spice.
Would I read the sequel? Yes, but only if I was down bad

I love Wes and Jamie dynamic, as individuals they fit great and the sexual chemistry god damn. I admire Jamie’s family dynamic as well and how it heats and accepts Wes
As someone who’s in no contact with her life givers, Wes feelings hit home
"But here's the thing about family, Ryan...blood doesn't mean shit. You just need to surround yourself with people who do love you, and they become your family."

i love a good friends to lovers romance and this was such a cute one!
i’m not a huge fan of sports being heavily incorporated into stories because i honestly couldn’t care less about them but i still really enjoyed reading this.
some of the writing was a little cringey but it wasn’t anything too major and didn’t detract from the overall story.
i was really rooting for wes and jamie’s relationship and i’m definitely looking forward to reading more of them in the sequel.
