Obsessive-Angsty-Emotional
Those are just some of the words I could use to describe this book. This is a bully romance- the two meet the summer before their freshman year and then meet again their senior year of HS. Whit hates Summer because her mom had an affair with his dad, resulting in his parents divorce. He is putting all the blame on Summer. Turning those at the school against her, making her an outcast. Then he finds her journal- learning secrets about her past… he uses this for blackmail, he wants her to be his in whatever way he wants. Summer craves the dark things Whit does to her, they are drawn to each other.
I hated the way she was treated by his mother and his sister, and the way the got torn apart. But I think having distance from each other was good for the both of them. I loved the ending of this book, I love seeing them happily together not caring about how they live their lives. And I loved that they may have sweet and cuddly moments but even after all this time, they still crave the darkness.

I almost cried tears of joy when the book ended
the back of my shampoo bottle has a better plot than this.
All I’ll say for now is that this book makes Colleen Hoover look like a saint.
not a bad turn your brain off book but went on for way too long
I hated this.
Our story follows Summer. Summer likes Whit. Summer's mom is having an affair with Whit's dad. Summer's mom blackmails the Lancaster family to get Summer into the fancy school. Whit steals her diary and says if she wants it back, she has to become his personal wh0re. He holds Summer personally responsible for her mom messing up his family.
.
Then there's a dying little sister who may or may not be a victim of munchausen by proxy. You never find out.
There's a stereotypical gay best friend who randomly pops in at the end of the story when the author was running out of material.
Summer and Whit fall in love and she never gets the diary back.
The plot twist ticked me off. Her mom is toxic. The little sister is toxic. The entire Lancaster family is toxic. Everyone sucks.
The end. I will not be continuing this series.

I would have enjoyed this book a lot more, (even the absolutely toxic male behavior), but I absolutely could NOT get past the fact that this absolutely dominating, strong, powerful, serious, dark male protagonist is... A 17 year old BOY? Like, sir? You have no business behaving like this when your voice just stopped cracking and you still get puberty acne.

Okay, listen. I came into this book with an open mind after reading a review and taking it with a grain of salt. I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out the plot of this book but I do admit that I did like the smut even though it was A LOT. I do like Summer as she was definitely a different heroine where she takes charge of her sexuality and isn't afraid of it. Also props to her for holding her head up throughout the whole ordeal. Whit Lancaster. The way he was down bad for her since day 1 and I was totally here for it. However, I needed more emotional connection because as much as I like the physical the emotional felt almost nonexistent. I did have fun though.
