2.5 ⭐️

This book was 200 pages too long. This is the longest it’s taken me to read a book ever. Rounded it up .5 because I was determined to finish it and I didn’t want to DNF.

The way this book pulled all kinds of strings in my mind and heart

Candid. Captivating. Heartaching. Whit and Summer are a game changer. Murphy takes all of the preconceived notions of love and blows them sky high. Things I Wanted to Say is beautiful, broken, soulful. Murphy dares to be human instead of languishing in the fairytale.

This book was so bittersweet for me. I love Monica Murphy’s romance writing style, as evidenced by the fact that A million kisses in your lifetime is my favorite romance book. But this book repeated basically all of the plot of a million kisses in your lifetime without any of the sweetness. By that I mean once again, we had the main male character, owning Lancaster prep, which I thought was the case for Crew’s book, who starts off hating the FMC. In Whit’s case however he doesn’t stop hating her for a very long time, too long imo. Thanks to this book I have realized that a bullying k*nk is not for me, and I much preferred Whit being a cinnamon roll at the end of the book, which is what semi redeemed it to 3 stars. I don’t know if it was just me but this book seemed A LOT steamier than A Million Kisses in Your Lifetime, and that one was already

I love a good bully romance and often gravitate towards this trope. Now I didn’t starts with this book I actually start with a Million Kisses book 2 with all the hype of booktok how couldn’t I not right. I’m glad I decided to read Wite and Summers story there so adorable and loved the banter between the two.

Dark, bully romance.A girl meets guy at party and then sees him years later during her Senior year of high school. It is your typical “I saw her and now nooone else can touch her” toupe and he makes the whole school hate her. Later he steals her journal and secrets in order to control her to stay with him. It was a bit long at the end of the book, could have been shorter but ended pretty well after all. Book 1 out of 6 in the Lancaster Prep series

Great dynamic between FMC & MMC. Believable enough storyline. Excellent spice and great tender moments. 3rd act reunion was underwhelming. Great enemies to lovers.
