"People populate the darkness; with ghosts, with gods, with electrons, with tales."
An awesome mix of supernatural thriller, mystery noir, and tongue-in-cheek fantasy, Gaiman weaves an intricate and historically interesting tale. Probably one of Gaiman's best novels.
Definitely one of the best books I read this year. I loved it, I didn't want it to end, I'd recommend it to everyone.

I enjoyed this story. To say I fully grok the story would be a lie. Is it meant to baffle? Are we meant to feel bewildered and just accepting what we read as a story and nothing more? The main character in this story has very little personality and seems to very much take his "name" to heart. Was Gaiman attempting to cause us to feel as the main character does? This was my first Gaiman story and I look forward to more though can't say this was a great story to start out with and not sure I get all the hype for it. Looking forward to the TV show and hoping more is fleshed out there.
A mostly fun read. There were some sections that I stalled on but the main storyline was complex and compelling. I did think one of the side mysteries was eye-rollingly obvious. Basically the villain reveal of every Scooby-Doo episode. I still highly recommend it as he stuck the landing on the rest of storylines.
booooooooooo this author does not think women are peopleeeeeeeee

Just finished my first Gaiman book and I can see what the fuss is about. Great writing. Very interesting take on both mythology and Americana.
Supremely entertaining. Wonderful characters. A truly orginal story.
