Pleasantly surprised with how great of a story this was. It was a solid first book to kick off a series. It didn’t get the full 5 stars simply because I wished the main couple had a liiittttllleee but more chemistry. Catch me reading the 2nd book for sure though.

This book is very dark in an invasion theme, but the characters are well done and rounded out beautifully.

 DNF -Struggled to connect with the story. Once they'e rescued and communication is possible, I'd like to know what is happening, who are these aliens and what's the next thing to do (find other humans? Help fight the aliens?)

Earth has been invaded and fallen to alien invader, the Gryken, intent on using humans for breeding and feeding. Fer’ro (H) is part of another alien race, the Vullen, who’ve come to help against the Gryken. Adira (h) is supposed to be a breeder and Fer’ro helps comes to the rescue. As the pair get to know one another and Adira comes to trust Fer’ro, their relationship moves into the hot and steamy realm. There’s a lot of great world building to help establish the series in this dark and violent story.

Enjoyable action-packed Sci fi scenes.  The romance was very instalove/lust which was fine but nothing special. One element that didn't make sense was why

Adira couldn't understand  the alien language after getting the simbiotes but the aliens could understand and speak English.
