maybe i need to be more open as a trans man. thank you oliver, your writing style perfectly captures the mental hoops i also went through when figuring out myself; you taught me i'm still figuring things out. i felt oliver's distress and pain and confusion and euphoria as intensely as i have felt it myself

This was a beautiful coming-of-age memoir about transitioning later in life. It was a wonderful view of Oliver's journey of discovering his identity and the reactions of everyone around him as he did so.
It's an incredibly poignant piece for today's times considering the scapegoating of trans people and the constant attack on their rights and spaces.
Highly recommend!

Excellent memoir!! The author detailed what it was like to come out as trans while married, in his 40s, and with 4 kids. It is a great example of the limits we place on ourselves in society & how much good can come from breaking that mold.
I think this could be a good entry point into learning about the trans community for GenXers, too.
