really enjoyed this read :-) i haven’t read many books by trans men, especially memoirs, so it was nice to be able to relate to the author in that sense. this book was also a nice reminder that it’s never too late in life to start over even when change is particularly scary.

It was interesting (and good!) to see a memoir by a trans author who was not famous, just an ordinary person. Reading the celebrity stories is great, but it's also wonderful to see increased variety in trans stories from a variety of backgrounds. The most moving part (and also hilarious at times) to me was the relationship with Oliver's four kids, as they grow up and adapt to their new parent.

An amazing and moving memoir. At times my heart was completely broken because of the pain Nicky experienced denying her true self. Which made Oliver all the more joyful when he realized his true self and name. The writing is excellent and an important addition to the queer and trans canons
