I’d give this like, a 3.8
This review discusses things you would already would know from the back of the book, no spoilers outside of that

This one didn’t go down as easy as some of the other books. It was a tiny bit clunkier as far as the fact we had 4 different couples to follow simultaneously.

Walt and Muriel didn’t feel super necessary but I get why some readers would enjoy an older couple to follow. I personally didn’t want it. But I think that’s because they’re the same age as my in-laws who are in a newish relationship. I didn’t want the mental picture of what their bedroom affairs have looked like

Abby and Cameron were the hardest to deal with

Dan and Cheryl are well-matched, and I’d honestly would enjoy more from them. I do hope we get to see more in the next book

Ricky and Liz. Oh my heart.

If anyone says that Carr’s storylines end up too saccharin sweet, they can’t say that after theirs. But what happened between them is one of the most realistic plot lines of the entire series; what soldiers who experience combat injuries and their families have to endure.
And it absolutely broke my heart. Many times I cried over not just Ricky but for our soldiers in real life. And for boys who become men who weren’t raised with the tools to handle emotions better—who believe they shouldn’t even have them.

I couldn’t even be frustrated with Ricky’s behavior, because it is so real that it becomes heartbreaking.

This wasn’t my favorite of her books but it was still real good. As always, I forget I’m reading about fictional people sometimes.

I loved every book so far, I was looking forward to this book Rick grew on me with each book that went by. Liz and Rick were meant to be you knew it right from the very beginning. I don’t care that they were young when you know you know.

They went through more than most people do in a lifetime and come out the other side maybe not whole but still breathing and that’s really all you can ask for.

They both grew up so young. And if you read the other books you know what I am talking about. Rick was hurt in Afghanistan, and that comes with a whole new set of issues they have to work through.

This book like the others has other characters; Cameron and Abby have to work things out. You root for these 2 if not as much as the other.

I also really liked getting to know Dan; we met him before he was the pot farmer. And getting to know who he is now is pretty interesting. I have to say Jack and his interaction were some of my favorites of the whole series.

Cheryl the town drunk pulled on my heart strings in the book. I have to think this was due to Mel and her relationship or is it gratitude? I don’t’ know but it’s a story I am glad was put in to these books.

This isn’t my regular 5 star book only because I wanted more Rick and Liz…. So yeah.. :p

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Another cute Virgin River novel. I like getting to see different POV’s throughout the story. Ricky was starting to annoy me, before he finally accepted that Liz loved him. It was interesting learning more about Dan Brady and I was rooting for Cameron and Abby.
