Rereading this because I am going to watch it's final arc in cinema. Truly an outstanding start of Tanjiro's journey—how his love for Nezuko and his late family pushes him to go on even if it was unbearable. There are many main characters, notably in animanga, that has 'kindness' as their prime trait, but Tanjiro is different. His kindness is effortless, as if it was a part of his breathing technique long before he knows what it is. His relationship with Nezuko is what I love most in KNY—sibling love mostly gets undermined in media, but they show how powerful it could be. The grotesque imagery of the demon's and their victims are also top notch—Gotouge isn't afraid to draw it as it is and I applaud that. The setting of the Taisho era (1912~1926) also breaths in every page, representing Japan and it's strong yet unique culture seamlessly from inside the country to the global side. KNY is classic manga, to say at last. A must read for every animanga fan.
