If you have been quick to write-off Paris or any it-girl based on what you see of them in the media or on socials, you’re actually legally required to read this one. Sorry, I don’t make the rules. Over the last few years Paris has been advocating for the protection of kids from the “troubled teen industry” and to hear the details of what she went through was grueling. I finished this one with a much different perspective of Paris than I started. She’s quick to acknowledge her privilege, and I was surprised to hear just how long she’s been strategic about using the media’s obsession with her to her own advantage. I thought this memoir was well written and had an incredible throughline about trauma and PTSD.

I'm not sure anyone could read this book fully and not like her at least a little bit more. She's incredibly raw and open about what she's been through.

I find her approach to her ADHD a rather inspiring outlook and it makes me feel better about my own diagnosis.

I’m usually not the non-fiction type so I’m not sure how to write a review for it but this was written so well.

I loved how she told her story and sometimes trailed off onto something else before bringing the topic back, it felt authentic and while topics in the book were far from pleasant to read the way she wrote it made my ADHD brain keep up much easier.

She has been through so much, and whether you choose to believe her story or not she deserved better.  Everyone failed her so many times and it was not something anyone should have been put through.

This memoir was horrifying, depressing, heartbreaking, and at some point hilarious, like how she mentions how to make a Waldorf salad—which felt so relatable, how I try and tell someone how to make something all the while having never measured anything and just having gone with the flow of the “recipe”.  This book was real and genuine, it had its ups and downs; and I’m honestly so amazed by how strong she is having overcome so much trauma.
