Excellent book that describes how to effectively understand and heal anxiety, perfectionism, guilt, shame, etc. I'll be referring back to it often when I am "triggered" into an emotional flashback, typically feeling sudden panic or fear over some benign incident. This, and the book Whole Again, have been extremely helpful on my journey.

My therapist suggested this one after diagnosing me with CPTSD. I keep insisting that 90% of my trauma comes from my narcissistic brother and a really bad ex...all things I experienced as an adult..but she still wanted me to read this book.
Maybe it can be helpful for the right person, maybe I could've also gotten more out of it if the author would've trimmed out some of the excess stuff and stopped flipping between she and he (seriously just pick a gender neutral term) so I could've followed it with more ease. But this was definitely not the book for me. Maybe my therapist can give a better recommendation...
