Soul wrenching. I’m at a loss for words. Niko and Brans love was so pure. Their journey had so many ups and downs. I haven’t cried over a happy ending scene in so long. These characters just deserved to finally get peace. They found it in eachother and I felt every word on the page. I loved seeing all of the other couples and friendships from the rest of the series. I laughed out loud multiple times and I loved Levis chapter, and I didn’t usually like the parent chapter that much in the other books. Niko and Brans story might be my favorite of the series.

“this time it will be different” - every person in a toxic relationship ever.

i enjoyed it! i have an issue with the way Brandon’s
suicide attempt and self harm
is handled, if only because of the neat bow it’s tied up in. Nikolai is a psycho and not in a cute way. i have complicated feelings about their relationship, but a lot of it has more to do with Brandon’s family stuff than Niko and Bran themselves.

I read the first few chapters of God of Malice (the first book in the series) months ago. I put it down and never picked it back up. I did not like it.

The next thing I know, I see edits and reviews of people talking about this book. Niko and Bran this, Niko and Bran that. I saw quotes and screenshots and even heard snippets of the audiobook.

It got me. I had to read this. Is this book really that good? And, damn it sure was. I read right through this on my Kindle never once did I put it down. I highlighted SO MANY moments in this book. Niko and Brandon are everything. Niko is crazy but so so soft for Brandon, the way he helped him through his issues. He pushed Brandon but at the same time was patient with him because he saw how twisted up he was.

I also loved Brandon and Landon's relationship. We didn't see a lot of Lan but when we did he was 100% behind Brandon even when Brandon was actively pushing him away. The moment they had at the end was so sweet.
Niko/Landon teamup was perfect! and well deserved, that person deserved what they did to them.
Levi's (Brandon's father) chapter was funny too. Niko's relationship with his father Kyle was so cute.

Overall, I loved this book. The only annoying thing was the whole Koyla nonsense with Niko but whatever it didn't bother me too much. Now, just so you know you don't have to read the previous books to understand this, I was never confused or lost throughout this story.

5 out 5 for me! NIKOBRAN FOREVER!

1.75-2/5

HONESTLY??? yeah it was pretty problematic in parts but did i love the characters??? yeah absolutely!

am i going to read the other 50 books in this universe?? absolutely tf not BUT IT'S FINE i liked it!! not that bad for sure!!!

did i almost drop it because of the third act drama?? yep i did. i did NOT want to deal with those fuckers but my friend who i was buddy reading with was like "u gotta catch up to me" so i did. and i finish the whole book (SHE PROCEEDED TO DNF BTW THE BITCH-) but yeah it was alright :D

the whole russian mafia thing had me laughing out loud i could not take it seriously BUT it was a bit brutal at times

~okay update like a few weeks later

seeing as this book led me into one of the worst spirals of my life and impacted my mental health SO horribly

also just remembering how comically bad some parts were

i have taken the rating down a notch

Except for the detailed nc scenes (not my preference) I loved the plot, writing how the story flows.

I love this story. Nikolai and Brandon are just wow.
The story felt even more emotional on audiobook.
