I didn’t plan to read this book because I was breeding. The book came recommended from my Facebook women’s travel group. I wasn’t about to read this ode to singledom that would somehow put down me and my life choices. No thanks. But more and more people read it in my travel group and the book kept getting recommended. Then someone’s review sealed the deal for me. She called the book hilarious and self-deprecating and said it was written by a comedy writer. Okay... I could read that. I love travel, the hilarious and women comics.

And it was a great book. It was hilarious (Ambient-fueled emailing binges) and self-deprecating (older, single girl gets extra security checks in Israel because they could have a terrorist boyfriend). And thankfully it had a bunch of sex in it too. Hey... if you are single, why not have a Latin lover?

Witty and full of knowledge. This book has me bursting at the seams with a desire to travel.

I adored this book. It was funny and fast paced. It was also very well written. What do you expect when the author has written for many famous sitcoms though?

Maybe my 5 star rating comes from a more personal place than the book itself, but isn't that where reviews ultimately come from?
I felt like I read this at a time where I needed it the most in my life. Feeling pressured by so many people around me to 'settle down' but at the same time wondering if I was too old to be embarking on another tour with a group who will no doubt be a lot younger than me. This book reassured me of all my doubts and made me feel so secure in my decisions.

Do I think everyone would love this book? No, absolutely not. But for me, it resonated with me so deeply I imagine I'll probably read it more than once or twice.

Perhaps a little too crass for my tastes, but a good message and boy did she have some great adventures.

Didn't know what to expect from this book, but it was recommended by a friend so I decided to read it as part of my read harder challenge. I enjoyed it more than expected. Not sure what I expected but this book was very amusing, kept me interested, and made me want to travel more. Easy, fun read, especially for those who are adventurers or who want to be.

Sort of a Chelsea Handler lite.

I saw this book in a list of books the creator titled “Books Every Young Woman Should Read,” and I agree. This book is equal parts inspiring, raunchy, reflective, and real. I felt like I was reading the authors diary, in the best way possible.
