It was fine. I really like the back and forth narration, the characters and dialogue were well written. Of course I sympathized with Yasmen but I found her kinda annoying lol? I just kept thinking if the two of them would just TALK things would never have gotten so bad. I'm glad everyone went to therapy but the long descriptions of all they learned in therapy didn't give me much that I didn't know already. But I hope other people can learn from this book especially how vulnerable and open Josiah's journey with therapy is. The food in this book sounds hella good and I'm definitely making the sweet potato pancakes recipe!

I found this book very difficult to get through. It was cluttered with too much sex and not enough depth for me. An easy and quick read that I did not care for. It took me 3 times to finally enjoy it enough to finish reading.

Didn’t love it…didn’t hate it. Both main character were super unlikable for like 50% of the book but the ending was good.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. I was apprehensive about this book because it’s about a divorced couple with kids finding their way back to each other. They’re also grieving family deaths. I worried it would be too much of a downer when I’m in a phase of reading a lot of fluffy books.

But this totally swept me off my feet. Josiah and Yasmen’s chemistry was sizzling and their journey was beautiful to read. The dialogue was realistic, the scenes in therapy had me highlighting large swaths of text, and by about 40% through I was eagerly stealing away pockets of time to get some pages in. There is spice but it’s way more focused on the plot and the relationship. I loved reading the scenes with their kids too.

Gave a little happy sigh when finishing this one :)
