i’m having the worst luck with books lately and it’s killing my soul. this one dragged. i guessed almost every single piece of the plot, and it was just generally boring. so sad.

Woah! A slow burn and a bit hard to keep track of what’s what at the beginning, but everything started to click into place near the end. Definitely recommend!

i knew daisy and jon were dodgy from the start.
the first chapter being a flashback to kit when she was 16 was and not the now in the van was GENIUS! the missing shoe?! i was convinced she was dead omds.
the police chapters with mal, i liked learning what they learnt about the crime in order and uncovering things with her that made me understand either kit, daisy or jon's pov.
THE PREGNANT LADY VANESSA AND THE ONE WHO SUDUCED JON BOTH BEING KIT HAD ME GAGGGGGED!!!! FAKE BUMPS?! ACCENTS??? insanity. i was gobsmacked, jaw on the floor.
jon and daisy are NASTY people and i'm SOOOOO happy they got found out, and that kit is free with the money she got from them. justice was actually served here
Ok first of all this freaked me out at some parts I’m not gonna lie but WOW WAS THIS GOOD. The audiobook was so immersive. And the writing was SOOOO engaging like you can almost FEEL the story. The plot was actually crazy and kept me wanting answers bc wtf this was mind-bending.. the characters were fleshed out so well like they all had their complexities and inherent flaws and I hated most of them but I mean… that’s the point. (k except like Mal and Benoit of course and the old neighbor who was feeding the bird❤️) Not everyone is perfect and we all have desires and fears that ultimately control what we do and sometimes that leads to consequences that destroy our lives yasssssssss (looking at some specific ppl who deserve it
