What did I just read?! At first I thought the characters were well written, but towards the middle of the book the writing truly lost a lot of my interest. I feel some characters were rushed towards the end and I’m wondering what happened to some of their story lines... definitely not one I plan to recommend
I picked this book thinking that it sounded darkly funny, but it was just dark. All of the characters were unhappy and failed to connect with each other, and although the book ended on a (slightly) hopeful note, the book was just a huge downer for me. The premise had so much promise, but I found myself dreading rather than enjoying the read.
Meh. I was entertained (audiobook) but am completely ambivalent about the entire thing. It was horrid; it wasn’t good. I’ll probably end up forgetting I even read it.
The premise of this book was great: a mother of three grown children wins a cruise. They all go together and the dysfunction of each person, caused by a tragic past event, come to the surface.
Yes, there was drama, a bit of humor, and some healing, However, the characters seemed one-dimensional and, frankly, the mother especially was completely self-consumed and annoying. And the ending was super-abrupt. 2.5⭐️ rounded up.

I don’t even know what to say about this book. I read it because it was one of Reese’s books of the month. I felt that this book was so drawn out. There were so many times I was so frustrated at each of the characters for not just saying the truth. All I can say is that I am glad that this was a short read.
I thought this was going to be a fun, light-hearted beach read and I was wrong.

This book was... not good? I’m baffled by the Reese pick here, as it felt verrrrrry slow and uninteresting and far too long and uneventful. Not a fan.
Charlotte and her family are estranged, however does a chance to cruise Italy give them the opportunity to come together. I enjoyed the character and setting development that Amanda Eyre Ward wrote into the story. I have always wanted to travel to Europe and now Italy is on my list. While I did not find personal connections with the characters, I found myself wanting to keep reading to see how they made out in the story. It also makes me long for a family vacation with my parents and sister.
I kind of struggled with the book and was already aware of what to expect....
