Did not care for this. It read like a long chapter, rather than a short story, in my opinion. While it was stand-alone, you wanted to read more, but it wasn't nearly as entertaining for me to want to read more...if that makes sense. I probably won't pick up the rest of the books in the series. There just left too many questions that I wish were answered initially..not in subsequent books.

I'm not sure that I would have kept going with this if I hadn't already seen the Silo TV series, which follows the first part reasonably closely, just because I didn't find the start of it particularly engaging (The TV series made me want to know what happens next, hence reading the book).
