This is well written and has bars. Pretty descriptions of clothing, jewellery, food etc. A very soft life in the first half that they get bored of in the second.
There’s a lot of mc development of self concept and how another helps him to stop being ashamed. They’re all very trusting of each other but mc seems to feel vulnerable. Lucifer has a particular way of showing care and as his attentions drift he suffers. Then he rebels.
A new angel is ashamed of his beauty and has many questions. The parent is conditionally loving. After beingpunished for something he can’t comprehend he develops dissociative identity disorder and becomes a
system of at least 4 faces.
God tells lucifer that he planted a garden inside him and is waiting for him to grow to fruition. Lucifer is told he thinks to much and asks too many questions, a lot. It’s very controlling parent vibes. He also has nightmares. He has been designed and yet he has to find his purpose.
He lives with a fruit farmer angel who has never been to Eden and seen god. Lucifer decides he is the angel of worship, he pours god wine and feeds and sings to him. It’s giving golden child. Very dysfunctional. .
The book begins with a very soft idyllic pretty vibe. It ends in darkness-Literally. It’s not a light, easy read. Be careful if you have religious trauma. If you can read about wanting to please God and not spiral you’ll be fine. This is just a story. Idk I’m tired.

This book was hyped up to me as being very dark, so part of my reading experience was having this anticipation that things were going to go to shit at some point, but I didn’t quite know when or exactly how. Ultimately the pay off for that was really good and I quite liked it. I think this book would make for a bomb-ass graphic novel because so much of the sensory language in the book is visual, which can sometimes work against it in the sense that occasionally I was like “why exactly do I need a whole paragraph on the color of this guy’s clothing” lmao, but really Nicolás’s writing is really gorgeous and the ending left me staring at a wall for a while. I liked this book a lot
