If you would have given me only the second half of the book, I might would have loved it. Unfortunately for my enjoyment, the second half of the book is plagued by the first half of the book, which is exceedingly slow and languorous. Beautifully written? Sure.
This could have been a very interesting take on the fall of Lucifer with a queer spin, but it ended up being nearly 200 pages of Lucifer being unsure of and uncomfortable with himself, then a flurry of his descent into madness (?).
I also felt like so many characters were one-dimensional. For a book that took on Lucifer and God and the like, it didn't have much to say. Literally, next to nothing happens until near the end. There was so much space to explore so much more instead of constantly being like, "Lucifer is so beautiful. He is uncomfortable by his beauty. What is his purpose?"
In conclusion, it was fine. I think I disliked it, despite being so excited for it. But once the tone was set for the first 50-60%, it was over for the rest of the book, no matter how good it was.
