"you are the beast, lucifer."
this is the closest i've felt to rereading the song of achilles again for the first time. it is beautiful and raw and tragic. you already know how it's going to end, but you keep wishing the ending will change so that the characters you grow to love and adore stay happy amongst themselves. this is definitely going to be a recommendation i give to everyone.

This book hurts. I easily fell in love with the slew of characters- most notably Lucifer. It's a painful story of growth, discovery, abuse, and how trauma can morph a person into something unfamiliar. A fantastic read that had my heart aching by the very end.
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Physical abuse, Torture, Murder, Dysphoria
Moderate: Animal death, Rape

Couldn't put it down. Queer theory just opens sooo many beautiful doors for beautiful interpretations and deeper understandings.
Nicolás' poetic writing captured the existence of Satan and the contradictions of faith, as it tries to answer impossible questions/concepts, in a really unique way. There were so many details and themes and I enjoyed connecting the dots between them as they came up. Demonology/Angelology is so interesting and reading this after reading Milton and Dante made it all the more riveting. I'm definitely going to re-read this and mark my favourite parts, it's just so beautiful!
Part Two definitely made me uncomfortable and some parts here knocked my rating down but for the most part I found the entropy, depravity, violence, etc, was depicted in a profound and vital way.
