My quick take on book 2:

I liked this book a whole lot, but not quite as much as the first book. Most of the reason for this is because the focus of the book is on Riley. I don't hate him, but he's my least favorite character. I could definitely do without the love triangle---I was never really convinced of the connection between Riley and Ember, and this book didn't win me over to his side. We also get chapters with Riley's backstory, and I'll be honest, I didn't really care about the backstory all that much. I felt like we already knew everything we needed to know and those backstory chapters just took us out of the momentum of the main plot.

Having said all that, I'm still a big fan of this series, and I enjoyed the book overall. I've been listening to the audiobooks of these, and I think the narrators are all great for their characters.

Not bad.. not bad.

Rogue definitely didn't suffer the second book syndrome. Not sure why I never moved on from book one in the series but I am really glad that I finally did this time around. I really liked that it started right where the first book ended because lately my brain hasn't been remembering shit lately.

There's still hope that there isn't a love triangle between Riley, Garret, and Ember. Mostly because I hate love triangles and I want no part of it in this series. I mean, I love Riley and Garret. They were lovable and I feel bad that they are sort of fighting over Ember. Ugh, Ember was an annoying twat for the first half of the book. It's weird because I'm pretty sure I didn't dislike her in the first book.. but boy did things change over night for me.

I'm hoping that stays more likable throughout the series because I would hate to hate another MC.

In tegenstelling tot de meeste reviews vond ik dit deel iets minder goed dan het eerste deel. Maar wel super spannend, het las weer heerlijk door en ik ben heel benieuwd naar Jager! Recensie volgt op mijn blog. :)

This is surprisingly a better novel than the first. We see a whole lot more action and character development, and overall, the plot line is much more interesting than Talon.

This book was better than the first for sure. But also, there is very little action in the book and the romances are a little flat and not really believable. I always wonder about authors who don't convey romances very well. Is it that they've never really been in love or is it that I don't love see love the same way they do. Whatever it is, I am more invested in the other relationships. Riley and garret, the British hacker dudes involvement, Dante and ember. Ooo that ones gonna be a gooden

This book seriously bored me, it took over 300 pages for something really interesting to happen well aside from them sneaking into St George to save Garrett.
I thought Ember was ok in this book I didn't like her as much, I enjoyed Garrett and surprisingly Dante. I hated Riley and his possessiveness over Ember, so I'm not liking the love triangle in this book. I enjoyed the setting but the plot was so slow, something would happen and then like nothing would happen for like 100 pages and it was so annoying.
