I read "Well-Loved Tales: Cinderella" god damn it. 50 fucking pages in total and the app refuses to import it *rage*. Depressed and swimming in guilt over a lack of motivation, I reached for a short read, with *🖼 🎨 🖌 *.

List of grievances:
- In the edition I read, not this substitute, the father lived with Cinders, he was there, loitering in the background as his child was made a servant, only making a front and center appearance when it came time to parcel the child off;

- she's described as a little girl, but this chic has bust and a receding hairline;

- the prince's dialogue is confined to "this is my partner" and "this is the true bride". I mean fuck, he's even more familiar with her foot than he is with her face fam;

- I read it in the dark because *mood* so the illustrations colour didn't pop, under torchlight the pallate is really quite beautiful;

- I'm obsessed with tracking number of pages read, it seems to be a chief motivator in my current readership, I hate it. Then again, perhaps it is to do with the monotony of the current main focus? Life and Fate is a banger, but much like war and peace, it is not devoid of slow chapters - fuck, I know there was a war, but please don't talk me through it. Take me back to Viktor, I want to read about Viktor.

Amazing writing it is such a scary story i classify this as horror . The step mother accusing her of an incestous affair . It's just you wouldn't imagine this if you think about snow white

Even though it was extremely short, I really enjoyed the novel. I've always wanted to read the original story of Cinderella that my favourite Disney movie is based on.
The original story is of course different from the movie but I found that to be fascinating.
Due to it's length, I would recommend this story to anyone who is interested in reading it! It could easily be read in less than 20 minutes.

The fairytale “Cinderella” ( the version) written by the Grimm brothers is fairly different than the more recognized Disney film. It’s kind of a more depressing adaptation of the story and not the best for children; little harsh. (The deeper meanings). The reason for giving it only four stars is because of the lack of characterization and explanation to why what is happening, well, is happening. But then again this was wrote in the romantic period where characterization was not seen as important as describing the setting.
The story itself is fairly short with little detail. The main theme is too stay yourself throughout everything, don’t change. It’s a simple storyline, tragedy happens her mother dies she’s alone with evil step family who mistreat her and make her do everything. She got help from the animals and the tree (that represented her mother) to help her ready for the ball where she met the prince. He instantly fell in love with her until he eventually found her and wed her.
I did enjoy this story; short, simple, and not so sweet. I do recommend this to an audience that is suitable for the more violent parts of the story. Like for example in the end where the step-sisters has their feet cut on and then their eyes peeled out for their wrongdoings. But other wise it is an interesting adaptation of Cinderella.

I love how much inspiration Into The Woods took from the original story!
