What a great read! Great twist!
But it was eerie to remember all the things we did at the start of covid.

This was such an amazing way to chronicle the pandemic that changed the world.

We see how devastating it was to doctors/nurses who were helpless against this unknown disease.
How fearful it made everyone.
All of the misinformation that was going around.
The isolation patients felt while healing or dying. The isolation we felt from each other.
It didn’t feel good being sent back into this period of time, it’s only 2024 and economically we are still feeling the effects of covid. Some of us who lost people or had to endure the medical front lines are still feeling the effects in our souls.

During the healing/rehab portions, those medical processes were incredibly accurate. From the wet sponges they use for a patient with dry mouth, to the swallow tests and how painful it is to be intubated. All of the steps and procedures were so spot on.
The bedside mannerisms of the healthcare workers were written extremely well and those interactions felt EXACTLY like the real thing.

Even though this book was about how covid changed the world, it was also about so much much more. I was already liking the message and the tone of the story, then the plot twist just threw me for a loop in the best way possible.

I’m so fascinated with the after life and what happens to our brain and soul when we are in an in between place. Do we dream? Is it the release of DMT? What happens to us during those NDE’s?
Are we visiting another world?
It’s so mind blowingly awesome to explore and think on. Loved this book.
