New genre of Romance for me, Highlander! Well, actually I just read [b:Outlander|10964|Outlander (Outlander, #1)|Diana Gabaldon|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1304187141s/10964.jpg|2489796] but I think that's a bit more than your average romance novel.
I enjoyed this book and the characters. I will pick up the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this book and the characters. I will pick up the rest of the series.
New year, new historical romance to mix in with the fic and non-fic in order to turn my brain off for a bit. I thought this was a nice story overall, "enemies" to lovers (my favourite trope), great representation, but I forgot how much I struggle to read the old-timey Scottish way of forming words and sentences. Something about the "'Tis'" and "Nay's" just triggers me I guess. A fun read all in all though! Not too spicy for those who care about that stuff.
Reread in February 2021.

Un libro que pasó sin pena ni gloria. Es entretenido y me mantuvo interesada la mayor parte del tiempo, pero nunca llegó a cautivarme del todo.
Lo que me gustó:
-Los clichés. Banks usa todos los clichés posibles en su novela (matrimonio de conveniencia, clanes enfrentados, etc) pero no se vuelven repetitivos, o no más que en otras novelas de este género.
-Consentimiento. A pesar de ser una novela highlander donde sería muy sencillo obviar ciertos límites, todos los personajes, especialmente el héroe, parecen tener muy claro que líneas no se pueden cruzar. En ocasiones, esto hacia algunas reacciones poco creíbles, pero no es que vaya buscando fidelidad histórica en este tipo de historias.
-La incorporación de una discapacidad. Me pareció interesante incluir a un personaje con sordera en la historia, aunque creo que no se supo aprovechar ni desarrollar como debería.
Lo que no me gustó:
- El hecho de que todas las mujeres fueran malvadas. Creo que fue un recurso demasiado simplista y hace un flaco favor al mensaje de la historia en general.
- Poco desarrollo. A excepción de los dos protagonistas, el resto de personajes no están muy bien desarrollados y muchas veces son casi intercambiables. En la misma línea, la relación amorosa se basa demasiado en el instalove.
Personajes muy maniqueos. O eres malvado o eres un santo, no hay punto intermedio en el universo de Banks.

Disaat pada rame menyunjung tinggi kesempurnaan (yang biasanya ditemui dalam hisrom), MB berani mubuhin sedikit kekurangan pada karakternya. Seri berikutnya setelah buku ini bahkan lebih njaleb lagi. EPYU IAN MCHUGH! Kamu meninggal begitu cepat. Mustinya disiksa dulu lah ya.

Super cute book. The hero was basically perfect and the heroine was really sweet.
This was my first Highlander Romance and I was really impressed with it. I'm excited to read the next book.

I felt that this was okay, it was better than expected but it still had a lot of corny moments which are sometimes alright, but I wasn't so apt to ignore them like I would in a Julie Garwood novel. I think the title is completely ridiculous and really has nothing to do with the plotline of this book, and the cover is even worse- glad I got this on ebook yikes.
The only book I was invested in after reading a TJR book.
Never Seduce a Scot deserves its good reviews. Its resilient FMC and astute MMC make you root for their development individually and together. There's satisfaction in getting justice as well.
