It was fun. I had to really sit and think hard about some of the plot points to avoid getting confused but it was a cool, quick read.

Good:
- It’s death note
- Great plot twist
- The info dump at the end was really cheap but i liked it because i couldn’t handle the book going on any longer
- great vibes + any content from L and his students is good content

Bad:
- reads like a wattpad story
- bland characters
- naomi solving the case made no sense
- WEIRD DIALOGUE

Totally worth it. I love it. Screams plot twist and actually helped me cope with the fact that Death Note has ended.

I recommend this book to readers of the Death Note manga series and those who love crime novels. The detectives discover clues and motives that I have never seen before in crime novels. And it is a delight to see characters you know and love from the main series a few years earlier without the threat and craziness of their lives. This case is mentioned multiple times throughout Death Note, as it is how two of the characters knew each other from before. The book was quite enjoyable having gone in with knowing who's who, but I'm sure the crime and the excellent descriptive writing from Nisio Isin will peak readers of both.
