The premise reminds you of the Jurassic Park sequels. You know trouble is brewing on the other islands, but they come up with an excuse to go back.

Once you get past any doubts at the premise (gone in two weeks?) it's a wonderful read.
Nowhere near as interesting or satisfying as the first book in this series, but it had its moments. It just felt really rushed, disingenuous, and conceptual. Leaves a lot of loose ends. Lacks the subtlety and nuance of the first. I hope some of the remaining sequels are richer.
