This is certainly a survival story. I did find it a tad far fetched though.

Still, stakes were high and it was a nice quick read.

Quick read, really fast paced and interesting. I didn’t know this was a series, but it’s fun to read. Engaging and educational.

Paulsen has a way of sucking you into the story and keeping you reading. He is quite a craftsman with his words.

I love the Hatchet series. I've read this before, but it was fun to read it with my son toddling around and imagining him picking up these books one day and maybe being as electrified by them as I was when I was a kid.

Not like the other books are exactly realistic, but this was entirely implausible.

I think I enjoyed this saga just as much as Hatchet. Maybe more since I don’t have to read this one a million times with my kids.

The plot of this book was a lot less plausible than the first, and the writing did not seem nearly as strong. There were certainly moments of intensity and Brian is still an admirable protagonist, but this was a key down.
