Me gusto.
Creo que tuvo algo de drama que me canso un poco, principalmente de Mischa

4.5/5 stars

The potential that could have been with a reverse harem. Like come on!!!! How could you not want Jessa with each other the brothers. Don’t get me wrong I have favorites, but I just needed that.

Also, Mischa is my least favorite character. She just seems so clueless and kinda plays the victim, and is partly the reason her sister gets hurt.

Anywhoooo loved the last scene in this book from Brax POV. Wish book 3 would be duel POV

This book was epic! I can't tell you how good it truly is. It had me swooning, laughing, infuriated and at the edge of my seat from the first page. Braxton and Jessa, what can I say - they keep getting better and better as do all of the Compass'. They kicked some major arse in this story. Plus the tension between Braxton and Jessa was immense as was their love for each other. Also pleased to note some sexy times between them too! Highly recommend.

WHAT!! Her sister is terrible. I can't stand her at all. Why did the Jinn do that? I have so many questions for everything.

This was actually really entertaining and it was filled with lots of sex but it was definitely way too focused on the singular special quirky girl

I enjoyed this book more than the first one, I got way more attached to the characters, and there may have been some crying at some point
Spoilerlike when the bond wasn't complete and then the whole two mates came about, totally called it being the dragon king!
Can't wait to devour the third book!

This book drove me nuts. It's like if you blended Twilight with normal urban fantasy. The beats feel weird. They keep saying this girl is a dominant she knows what she's doing blah blah blah. Repeatedly it feels like she makes the same mistakes. making mistakes are fine but not learning from them is stupid. She doesn't feel dominant she feels like a lil girl throwing her weight around in repeated tantrums. The whole smiling guys loving it thing still kinda gross. The whole Jessababe crap is too YA and it's a dumb knick name. Just when you think this series is gonna finally get fun it gets bogged down in stuff that slows the pacing down.

Again this author isn't bad. She's highly talented but the blend here just doesn't work. She can't say this chick is one thing then not prove it at all in an adult way. These actions she takes aren't one of a thinking adult if she had made this character 13 or 16 it would make more sense. I kinda don't know what to do. I plan on making this author a must-buy from now on after reading the Rejected shifter book. Now I'm at this point reading this earlier work and the blurbs of her other stuff that maybe that book was a one off.

paperbackstash's review

4.0

“I’m going to stop you right there, because the crazy train has already left the station and I think you missed your seat.”

Continuing right where the first, Dragon Marked, left off, Jessa has to deal with the new revelation of her and her twin's unique marks, finding horrors hidden in a prison system that is showing itself more tricky and corrupt than anyone figured, come to terms with what the legends of her mark means and the uprising war potential with the old king.

As strong as the first in terms of action, the story takes off further with taking liberties on their location. Gone is the mere existing in town as the group breaks into prisons and meets new people (finally.) There is a hefty change for one of the Compass brother, Maximus, who finds a somewhat suitable companion that creates some minor ripples. The sister is growing on me the more I read the series since at first I was uncertain, but now she's a sweet - if not slightly angsty - compadre....until she does something weird and sides with people other than family. Never a good idea; I wanted to throttle her by the end of the book instead of sisterly hugs. Braxton gets to flex his muscles and show his possessiveness and interest in Jessa (enter "like" checkmark here).

The dual mate possibility is just odd. It leaves enough doubt on if a love triangle will brew, or if this is just not an official confirmation of how silly it is to even consider Jessa would go after someone other than Braxton. I mean, really now, that would be a giant slap to the reader when its pretty obvious from page one these two have been basically bonded to the hip since birth.

The book works well not only because of the nifty world-building (there's so many paranormals that fill this pot), but because of the characters. The brothers may be slightly cliche at times, but Jessa shows herself to be a strong and likeable protagonist. Louis as the witch steals every page he graces. Even Jessa's father is a character gem - have to like the man's dedication to his family.

I don't read much New Adult, but you can't tell the age exception much reading this. I wouldn't have even thought of it unless I was looking at tags to see what I read that fit a reading challenge I had on the sideline. There's some steam but nothing overly pure or unconvincing about these characters - they've been living steadily for awhile without any wide-eyed innocence of youth.

If you enjoyed the first, you'll lap this one up because it takes existing relationships and makes them stronger, adds in a lot of plot twists, surprises and changes for the story-line.

Sadly these books end on cliffhangers, but thankfully the full series is out and ready for binging.

Captivating!

Fantasy, Danger, Romance, Vengence. Characters to fall in love with (or hate), exciting plot. Love love love and excited to read the next one!

Good book, but

Extremely disappointed by the use of the word fucktard. Ableist language really put me off the book, and pretty much ruined my desire to read more from this author.
