I really liked this book but I'm finding it hard to put into words the ways I liked it. It made me think. It made me change my perspective and challenged my notions of things. And it made me admit things. Plus the relationship between Emira and Briar is simply profound and then heartbreaking.

A thoughtful page turner. Complex insights into race and class and privilege and the trials of young adulthood. Appreciated the nuanced portrayal of all the characters as neither good or bad, but flawed humans.
writing didn’t work well with me, it felt very cringey and i didn’t care about any of the characters or relationships. isn’t a bad book it’s just not for me.
I had to check this book out 3 separate times to finally finish it so that should tell you I shouldn’t have bothered after not finishing the first 3 week span
