Daniel is a DRIP. Why did he never stand up for himself? Anyway, alls well that ends well. Nice little spooky ghost story.

I do like Darcy Coates books, I do, but this one wasn't one of my favorites.
Another commenter said 'horror lite' and I have to agree. And the ending was feel good, happy, the world as it should be. Which is fine. Sometimes you want that kind of ending.
What lost it for me was when the main ghost took the blame for the deaths in the town.
I was looking for a good haunted house story for spooky season and I really enjoy Darcy Coates haunted house books, but this just wasn't spooky enough.
I do recommend the book if you want a feel good haunted house story.

I listened to this book on audio and honestly I feel like that helped keep me interested. Its not that this was a bad book. It is a good creepy story it just feels like I have read books similar by Darcy before. Her style is very consistent but TBH if I had read it I might have gotten bored bc its similar to a lot to her other books. It was a quick book though and is helping me get to my goal before the end of the year.
With all that being said…it did keep me guessing who the actual bad guy was as there were several turns where “town rumors” story telling made me change my mind several times. This would be a pretty good book for Halloween time and that might give a boost.

Wholesome ending. But Daniel is gullible and not too smart, the archetypical horrormovie-victim, which is irritating during the middle part of the book.. The feelgood twist was nice though.
