Good story, interesting characters. I'll probably read more of her books in the future.
The mysterious manor looms in the dark, and no one has been inside for ages. When Daniel is offered a job as caretaker for the gardens, he is curious, but also unsure. As he begins his work, he is beset by several mysteries. Who is the odd Bran, and what is knocking on his door at night?
There are several things he is instructed to do, but the more he learns about the family that used to inhabit the house, the more he wants to know, and the more dangerous it becomes.
Absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed this book! I grabbed an audio copy so that I could listen while I was working, and I played it through in its entirety today. Fantastic and enjoyable.

This book was like a roller coaster for me. I enjoyed the first 1/2 of the book far more than I expected. At that point I gave it a 3.75-4 ⭐️s. However it quickly changed at the halfway mark and up until the last 6 pages I would only have given it a 1.5 ⭐️s……I did enjoy the last 6’ish pages. Overall I give it 2.5⭐️s but since Goodreads doesn’t have that option, I have chosen to round down. The second half of this book just ruined it for me. I hate that bc I really did enjoy the first half.

Good story, different imagery. There was a slight lack of editing, such as continuity, but I'm also kind of picky. It did keep me guessing until the end, which was pretty predictable. It was spooky-ish, and though I don't regret reading it, I won't read it again.

Razmišljala sam se da li dve ili tri zvezdice. Stil mi se veoma dopao, ali radnja je vrlo tupava i na momente konfuzna. Entitet koji se plaši soli i srebra, ali nije ljudsko biće? Duh koji oseća bol?? Još jedan entitet koji nije živ ali nije ni mrtav, i još je oboleo od kuge???? Previše toga za jedan omanji roman.
Glavni lik je retko glupa osoba koja ne zna šta hoće i ima rascep ličnosti na svaka 2 minuta. Svi ga zavrnu na svakom koraku i on nikako da nauči nijednu lekciju.
Neke stvari su se baš zgodno tako desile i to je najlošiji deo ovog romana. Eto baš njegova komšinica izučava istoriju i zna sve o Craven Manor-u! Hah, kako se to baš lepo potrefilo! Znam da ovo nije sad ne znam kakvo delo, ali autor malo smatra svoje čitaoce za glupe ljude čim je servirao ovako nešto. I tried but failed. Naučite iz mog primera, ako je na koricama neki kripi zamak, vila, kuća, to ne znači automatski da je knjiga dobra hahah.

I absolutely loved this book. The plot and the characters. It was an excellent spooky read.
