I hate that I liked this book. The concept is interesting to me. It was a guilty pleasure read.

The first time I read this I thought it was an EHH book. I have reread it because I never ended up finishing the series (due to it not being out at the time), but I had very little memory as to what it was about. And I am super happy I did, because this is a good book! I must have not been fully into the genre the first time I read it.

The characters are relatable, the sex is hot, and the plot keeps you on edge. There's enough mystery to keep you guessing as to what is going to happen to these characters, but also an overall good story. A secret "benefactor" who collects her to get to know her. There's no rape or anything, so it's a very clean story in that sense. No kidnapping, no forcing. Just pure seduction to the point that she wants more.

I loved the parts where she had to blindfolded. Since the entire novel is in her POV, it's almost as if we, as the reader, are also blindfolded because we can't "see" him or what he's doing no more than she can. I think the ultimate thing that resulted from this story is the relationship that was created. It is all based on feelings, touches and conversations. No appearances (at least for her) has any affect on the relationship. It's genuine, because by the time she sees what he looks like she already has tingle for him

Overall I really enjoyed this novel and this time I will be finishing the series all back to back!

I liked this book. I knew what I was getting into as I read a number of the reviews prior to reading it. It was heavy on the sex and language and neither of which offend me so I was fine with it. The reason I didn't give the book a higher rating was because for me, I needed a little bit more and I didn't love the main character.

My dislikes:
Kyrie - as the main character and person who's POV the book is in, for me to truly really like a book I needed to really like her and I didn't. She would say she was a certain way and didn't give in easily but she did. Everyone liked her instantly and I couldn't figure out why because I did not.
Insta-love - I needed a longer courtship. I have never been a fan of "love" after a week and just have a hard time accepting it. The love happened quickly for our main character and it sometimes a turn-off for me.
Wording - sometimes that words used to describe things were off-putting. I dislike the word "boob" and it was used frequently. I also dislike c-u-next-tuedsay, I tolerate it in very specific circumstances and these were not them.

Likes:
Sex - I like, I like reading about it and I like when it is hot. In this book, it was. It was often and it was hot.
Story - The story kept me interested and I wanted to learn the secrets.
Roth - Yeah, I liked him.

So all-in-all it was a 3 because I liked it.

MF - contemporary romance- white MCs - erotic romance - pov first single - billionaire - class gap - forced proximity - he falls first - secret identity - 3 stars

I first read this book ages ago and was in the mood for something smutty. I finished it. I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series.

The book fills this niche that is hunky billionaire with a huge dick and kidnapping/coercion/Stockholm syndrome.

Also…I’m a sailor. He takes her out on a romantic day sail from Manhattan. Nothing about that sail was realistic at all. They anchored in the ocean with Long Island way in the distance and no one else around. There are major shipping channels all over the place and if there was enough wind to sail, it would have been bumpy AF to anchor so far away from land.
