This was better than anticipated. I didnt ever really fall for the characters, which is why this isn't rated higher, but the story itself was good and the characters weren't atrocious.
This is actually very much a plant horror novel (tho not super scary imo). I actually really liked the ovwr structure of the story and how I was all laid out. The ending was particularly well done.
This reminds me a lot of Annihilation (the movie as I have not yet read the book).
Overall this was good, exceeded my expectations.

interesting premise & really good descriptive writing but ultimately disappointing & unsatisfying with a very expected ending. like annihilation (as far as the whole concept of the wastelands is concerned) but take 100 steps back. & speaking of comparisons, as someone who loves piranesi i feel like i’ve been bamboozled…..

Good idea/story, but slow to get going and then wrapped up too quickly after it started to get exciting. Took me way too long to get through it, I just couldn’t get into it.
