Jackie Darling Lee is my spirit animal...

Or at least what I’d love to be. A super intelligent woman who is beautiful but doesn’t know it and doesn’t care. Her love of cowboys we share. Flynn has lots of baggage yet Jackie manages to get under his skin. As smart as Jackie is a lot of human emotions and reactions go over her head, that and this whole cast make this inspirational, romantic story also hilarious. This was a really fun read, can’t wait for Jules’ tale.

Ok, so first off Dr. Jackie Lee Darling works at NASA, freaking NASA as engineer. *inserts immediate girl crush*
Like I loved everything about her character, she was so refreshing!
Even though he had moments where I wanted to smack him, Flynn was one of the only people who truly saw her and that was everything.
One of all time favorite things about this story was the career associated word play Flynn and Jackie used to describe each other physically and their feelings. Hot, entertaining, and a swoony perfection for an ending, Space Junk is my first book by Sara L. Hudson, but she has found herself a new fan in me.

Dr. Jackie Darling Lee is a NASA engineer whose social life has been nonexistent until she meets and takes home a drunken Rose from her birthday party where she has been ditched by her friends. Trish, the bartender helps and, in that one night, Jackie makes two new friends. Jackie had noticed Flynn at the birthday party but didn't know he was Rose's brother until days later when he takes her out on their first date. Flynn is captivated by Jackie's beauty, humor, and especially her brain and it isn't long before they are in bed together, but Flynn has a secret he has been keeping from Jackie; one that may derail their relationship before it even gets off the ground.

Space Junk: Houston We Have a Hottie is a great beginning to the Space series and comes as a complete surprise. The book, written in the dual perspectives of Jackie and Flynn, is charming, witty, and wildly entertaining despite its short length. Even though more time could have been spent building the relationship between the two characters, there is still plenty of plot that develops their connection. Several things elevate this book above the everyday romance; one is the character of Jackie and her rather significant intelligence. Another is the research that must have gone into the story, adding details that make events seem very realistic. Even though the "space" puns become a little annoying in their overuse, overall, Space Junk: Houston We Have a Hottie is a quick, fun romance that is an extremely enjoyable read. 4 1/2 stars. Thanks to remarkablylisa on Booktube for the recommendation.

Jackie is a certified genius working Mission Control at NASA when she meets Rose and her hot brother, Flynn. The attraction is instant but Jackie has no social skills because her job is her life. She has one friend who occasionally blackmails Jackie into social activity, which how she met Rose and Flynn. Even if she wasn’t shy and self-conscious, she still wouldn’t make a move because she learned long ago that men aren’t to be trusted. There was one guy she’d ever shared her heart with and he betrayed her in the worst possible way, so she’s never going through that again.

Flynn wants Jackie bad, but the beautiful engineer doesn’t know what to make of the sexy mechanic. Any time he jokes, she thinks he’s making fun of her and pulls away from him. He hasn’t felt this way about a women in, well ever that he can recall but he’s determined to make Jackie see that she means the world to him. There’s a great supporting cast and Jackie’s new friends, Rose and Trish, are the best girl gang you could want. This is the first in a series, so I can’t wait to read their stories. This is sweet, steamy and fun. This was my first book by the author, but I’ll definitely be reading more.

Smart Funny Hot Romance

I highly recommend this incredibly smart, witty, well-written romance. It's so well researched regarding NASA 's programs and techniques and remains funny with great characters that you can really get behind. I loved Jackie and Flynn. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

One of the signs that I’ve absolutely loved a book is that I force my husband to listen to me summarize it. It’s like I can’t help how excited I am about it, and I just need to tell someone. (yes I obviously have all you bookish peeps and some good friends who get texts at all hours “OMG I just finished this… you need to read it immediately) but there’s just something about having a real in person conversation about the book that signifies just how smitted I am.
