It seems practically silly to rate or review a classic like Treasure Island. It's a classic for a reason! But, bottom line: I'm glad that I finally took the time to read it. It's a fun, fast-paced adventure, and it's very amusing -- sitting here in our 21st century culture where we have Talk Like a Pirate Day and Spongebob Squarepants -- to see all the pirate tropes used unironically. Shiver me timbers! There's a pirate with a wooden leg and a talking parrot, dubloons and pieces of eight, hidden treasure and secret maps, cutlasses and muskets, a brave cabin boy and a skeleton pointing the way.
Treasure Island is a hoot, as well as being a quick read, and I ended up really enjoying it.

This story was so vague. A lot happened but so casually ? All of the story seemed to happen in the last 20 pages to me, everything before that was a whole lot of nothing. I think it would’ve helped if I knew any boating terminology though lol.
